Safety Through Total Ownership We have developed a Safety and Health Program for managing workplace safety and health in order to eliminate the incidence of occupational deaths, injuries, and illnesses. It implements a basic framework for providing each employee with a safe workplace, systematically identifying and controlling workplace hazards identified by OSHA and other applicable standards, and for assuring compliance with those requirements. There are five key safety and health elements within the Program:
Zero Injury CommitmentOne of our primary strategic objectives is to attain industry leadership in safety performance. We believe:
Accordingly, every task must be performed with a concern for safety for ourselves, our fellow employees, our subcontractors, our visitors, our customers, and the communities in which we operate. A commitment to total safety is a commitment to doing things right. Ultimately, this results in the elimination of injuries and optimization of all activities. Since 85% of job site injuries result from individual unsafe or at-risk behavior, identification of unsafe behavior is critical to achieving Zero Injury projects. The Project Superintendent is the key person in this effort. The superintendent may be supplemented by specialized safety personnel but retains the overall responsibility for project health and safety. Remember, safe behavior plus a continuously improving safety system equals zero injuries.
Our goal is zero injuries. Click here for recent job write up.
